Our Mission:
MCIC is a coalition of organizations involved in international development, who are committed to:
• respect, empowerment and self-determination for all peoples;
• development that protects the world's environment; and
• global understanding, cooperation and social justice.MCIC's mission as a coordinating structure is to promote public awareness of international issues, to foster member interaction, and to administer funds for international development.
Schools Programming
We work with communities around the province to engage Manitobans in learning about and taking action on international issues.
We have a variety of programs for schools, including our “Generating Momentum” youth conferences, our “Move Your World” theatre program and our interactive game show “Are You More Concerned About a Better World than a 7th Grader”. We also assist our member organizations in promoting their school programs to Manitoba schools. See the main page or subscribe to our teacher e-newsletter for information.
Our public engagement staff are available to lead interactive workshops on a variety of issues, including Fair Trade, access to water, child labour and the Millennium Development goals.
