MCIC will not be hosting a major high school conference this year - look for our next one on Fair Trade in Fall 2010.
Instead, were collaborating with the Global College’s EYE Summit (Sept. 21st), the MB4Youth Global Citizenship Conference (Nov. 20th), UNICEF’s HIV/AIDS Conference (Nov. 30th) and UNAC’s Human Rights Conference (Dec. 10th).

MCIC is looking for 8 young people to create a music video about ethical consumption.

MCIC is looking for 8 young people to work together to create a music video about ethical consumption. Learn about issues related to consumerism – child labour, Fair Trade, sustainability – and then collaborate with industry professionals on getting your message across.
The song and video will be created over 4 days in November, 2009 to February 2010.
You must be available on November 18th, January 6th and February 3rd and 4th to participate.
The music video will be launched during International Development Week, February 7th – 13th, 2010.
You’ll get media training to help promote ethical consumerism in your school/community.
Selected applicants and their parent/guardians must sign a media release form.
The project is open to Grade 9 – 12 students with skill in music, writing, theatre or dance, filmmaking or video and activism. Travel subsidies for youth outside Winnipeg may be available.
